Waiakea Water, a Better Water for Many Reasons

How does a bottled water stand out from the crowd of brands offering water in a bottle? Many companies taut how unique their water is, but few can stand up to Waiakea Water. Waiakea Water is filtered when it runs through 14,000 feet of porous volcanic rock and it comes from Hawaii, a very exotic and natural location. These two features alone make Waiakea water a desirable product. Add to that the fact that its bottled in plastic that is degradable and you have an item poised to run off the shelves.

With eight million plus bottles being dumped in the oceans, seas and rivers annually, having degradable bottles gives the environment-conscious consumer one more reason to buy Waiakea Water. Waiakea is standing out from the rest by bottling their water in degradable bottles, making their water the first to be declared carbon neutral. This year, 2018 Waiakea will become the first bottled water company to use a fully degradable bottle. In contrast the degradable Waiakea bottle will fully degrade in 15 short years.

Waiakea not only offers a great product according to consumer sales and its being named one of Inc.’s fastest growing top 500 companies, it also cares about the environment. It may forge the way for other bottling companies to follow. Pretty soon, pollution as we once knew it may no longer be a threat to our environment.

Now Waiakea is adding one more major contribution to its reputation for giving back. Waiakea donates one week’s worth of clean water through Pump Aid, an organization building water pumps in the very poor country of Malawi. In addition to the charitable works Waiakea Water does, its water comes from an aquifer located at Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. This water passes through thousands of feet of porous lava rock. As it travels it collects electrolytes like potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium and around 30 mg of silica. Silica consumption is believed to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Today, Waiakea Water stands high above the rest when you consider its clarity, mineral content and it degradable bottle.

Canadian-born businessman, Louis Chenevert, has held several high-ranking positions in some of the world’s most powerful corporations throughout the world. Due to the savvy maneuvering of Mr. Chenevert, the company also failed to see the losses among employees during the recession, and in fact, helped to boost morale considerably by choosing to relocate a number of engineers from the aerospace sector, placing them in a community that featured upgraded living conditions that would allow them to perform on the job more efficiently. The two sectors affected most greatly during Louis Chenevert’s time at United Technologies Corporation were building and aerospace, which helped to keep the company on the cutting-edge, as well as allowing for a positive influx of finances.
